ABOUT

The Irish sword exchange workshops are designed to give affordable, to the point workshops on two different arts. Each workshop will be designed to give attendees a chance to experience and explore two systems of fencing.

Over the 3 hour workshop you will be instructed in both arts for one hour and then a further hour seeing how the systems work with and against one another.

Bio: Paul Reck founded Goats Head Historical Fencing in Wexford in 2015. The group’s main focus is the German Tradition of Historical Martial Arts, specialising in Longsword, Sword & Buckler, and Dussack. While the group draws from many sources, their principle areas of study are the collected works of Joachim Meyer for Renaissance Longsword, Dussack, Polearms and Dagger, although they also include the works of Sigmund Ringeck for earlier Longsword traditions. For Sword & Buckler, their primary source is the earliest known Medieval Fighting Treatise, MS I.33.
